@lauren.digitalsales: If I knew BEFORE my first maternity leave what I know now… I would’ve done sooo much differently 😭 I went into it thinking we’d just make maternity pay work somehow. Then suddenly I was stretching every penny and watching the weeks disappear while worrying about when I’d have to go back to work. So if I was going on maternity leave again, these are 5 things I would NOT do 👇🏼 1. I wouldn’t rely on maternity pay alone and just hope we’d somehow make it work. Every month felt stressful and I hated having to think twice about even little things like coffees and play dates. 2. I wouldn’t wait until maternity leave was nearly over to think about extra income. By then, going back to work was getting closer and I felt like I had no other option. 3. I wouldn’t compare myself to mums already earning from home. I’d look at them and think “there’s no way I could do that” Turns out… I could 😂 4. I wouldn’t doubt myself before I’d even tried. I knew NOTHING about digital products when I started. I learned as I went! 5. I wouldn’t wait for the “perfect time” Because with kids… when exactly is that?! 😂 Sometimes you just have to start. For me, that meant learning about digital products & Canva! And because I was a complete beginner, I actually started with ready-made digital products while I learned how everything worked, then gradually started creating my own too 🥰 Fast forward to now it’s helped me extend my maternity leave, reduce my working hours, clear debt, travel with my girls and have SO much more breathing room financially 🥹 I just wish I’d known this was even an option the FIRST time around.
