@soulsounds101: Fun Fact: Carole King wrote and recorded this in 1971 with James Taylor on the record playing acoustic guitar.. Part of the reason she wrote the song was a response to a line in Taylor’s song “Fire And Rain” where he sings “I’ve seen lonely times when I could not find a friend.” She wanted to let him know that he did have a friend.. He decided he liked the song so much that with her permission recorded his own version and released around the same time.. His hit #1 on the Billboard US Hot 100 and they both won grammys, her for Song Of The Year and him for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance..
