The Hindu Kush Himalayan region serves as the primary source of freshwater for billions, with our great river systems ultimately discharging into the Indian Ocean. However, the rapid pace of climate change has exposed our vulnerability in alarming ways. As Himalayan glaciers melt at unprecedented rates, we face the imminent threat of glacial lake outbursts, endangering entire communities. And what melts in the mountains inevitably rises in the seas. True stewardship goes beyond geography—it requires genuine, rule-based multilateralism and equitable governance, ensuring that the rights of all nations, large and small, landlocked or coastal, are respected. #fy #climatechange
