🚨 Ophelia will be euthanized Monday 10/19🚨 🔴I kindly ask that you please do not email the shelter for updates unless you are local and are planning to foster or adopt. Their inbox gets very busy, and unnecessary emails can slow down their ability to help the animals who need it most. Thank you for understanding! When there is an update this post will be updated at the top of the caption. I haven’t seen a name for her yet, so I’m naming her Ophelia. Ophelia has already been extended on the euthanasia list twice, and now Monday is her last chance to find a rescue and foster before she is euthanized. She is rescue-only because of concerns with her eyes, and I’ve attached her medical notes for anyone who would like to review them. This sweet girl has already been given two extra chances, and I’m hoping we can make this last one count. If you are local to the Houston area and can foster Ophelia, PLEASE comment below. Rescues need local fosters willing to step up before they can commit to saving her. She deserves a chance. •Questions? Check the FAQ on my Instagram highlights •ID: A2102063 •Intake: stray •female •8YR •41lbs •Heartworm positive •good with cats? not sure •🚑𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀: 10/14: She weighed 41.8 lbs and was evaluated for eye problems and reported weight loss. Staff observed green discharge from both eyes and areas of hair loss on her paws. She was diagnosed with conjunctivitis in both eyes, with a possible differential diagnosis of acral lick granulomas affecting her paws. Prescribed Gentocin (gentamicin) ophthalmic drops, 2 drops in both eyes twice daily for 14 days. Please be aware that all euth animals need a hold by 1PM. If you want to help, please be proactive do not wait! If you’re interested in a pet and live out of state, I encourage you to reach out to your local rescues to see if they pull from Texas shelters. I receive the euthanasia list from the shelter between 1–3PM, and the deadline to save the listed dogs is 1PM the following day. This timing is completely out of my control. 📌 Please contact BARC if you are local and can help! Neither BARC nor I can assist out of state adoption or foster offers. I am NOT the shelter. 💌 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗯𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘀𝗼 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹.
