🚨 I USED TO SCRUB MY FACE WITH WHAT MIGHT AS WELL HAVE BEEN BROKEN GLASS. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. 🚨 Welcome to UNHINGED: Where We Listen But We Don’t Judge — because I need to know what kind of skincare and makeup crimes YOU were committing before we knew better. 😂 I’ll go first… I used St. Ives Apricot Scrub on my face EVERY SINGLE DAY. Not once a week. Not occasionally. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I was just out here raw-dogging my skin with what felt like broken glass and somehow thinking I was doing myself a favor. 💀 And then, because apparently that wasn’t enough, I used Lubriderm BODY LOTION as my facial moisturizer. Oh, and I also SLEPT IN MY MAKEUP. EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT. I wouldn’t wash my makeup off before bed. Nope. I would wake up the next morning, put a completely new face of makeup directly over yesterday’s makeup, and go about my day like everything was perfectly normal. 😂 And the truly horrifying part? I did ALL of this throughout my teens and well into my 20s. But listen… we didn’t have YouTube, TikTok, SkinTok, Instagram, skincare tutorials, makeup tutorials, dermatologists on our For You pages, or an entire internet dedicated to teaching us how to properly care for our skin. We were out here figuring it out with whatever products were sitting on the bathroom counter. 😂 Thankfully, I KNOW BETTER NOW. Over the past 10-15 years I’ve learned to take much better care of my skin, especially as my skin has matured, and my skincare and makeup routines look VERY different today. But now I desperately want to know YOURS. What is the most unhinged, irresponsible, ridiculous, or downright hilarious thing you used to do to your skin or makeup that makes you CRINGE when you look back on it today?! Did you sleep in your makeup? Use completely inappropriate products on your face? Over-pluck your eyebrows? Tan your face into oblivion? Use some questionable DIY beauty hack? Wear makeup that was three shades too dark? Tell me EVERYTHING. 😂 Drop your most cringeworthy skincare or makeup confession in the comments.
