This was the ONLY winning move available for White. By moving Bishop to D4, it forks the Black King & Queen. This leaves Black with 2 legal moves, either take the Bishop with the Queen, or block with the Knight to F6. If they take with the Queen then its an automatic forced Stalemate and neither player wins. However if Black chooses to block with the Knight then on the next turn Bishop takes the Knight and its Checkmate and White Wins.

Así es, saca tablas...después de que dama toma alfil blanco, se sacrifica la dama blanca dando jaque en g7, el rey negro toma dama en g7 y el rey blanco está ahogado...

Let's me explain the bishop is attacking the queen and the king but the king can't move so he have to take the bishop and sac queen g8 only move take queen that leave us with stalemate
