@thenarcissistcoach: 1. PLAIN YOGURT Dairy foods are linked to a lower risk of colorectal cancer, with calcium likely playing a role. This is not a reason to eat sweetened dessert yogurt every day. If you tolerate dairy, choose plain yogurt and add fruit yourself. 2. COFFEE Coffee is linked to a lower risk of liver and endometrial cancer. For endometrial cancer, the association is seen with decaf too so it may not be caffeine alone. That does not include a cup loaded with syrups and whipped cream. 3. OATS “Dr. Priyam, are oats really anticancer?” No food is. But oats are an easy way to eat more whole grains and fibre, both linked to a lower risk of colorectal cancer. Plain oats count. A sugary oat cookie does not. 4. BEANS AND LENTILS As a medicine resident, I am asked about expensive supplements far more often than beans. Beans and lentils add fibre and can replace processed meat. That ordinary swap is much closer to real cancer-prevention advice. Comment “HEALTH” if you want more tips like this.
