If the cost of using AI saves me time and generates me more business and more money doesn’t matter how much it cost.

I mean frontier models are expensive. But the frontier models of today are ones we will be running on consumer pcs in a year or two. Right now there is an open source model that’s like opus 4.5 level that can run on an 8gb vram card.

So is it really useful if the cost outweighs the value. Because having not to think and getting misinformation on topics you haven’t earned the knowledge. Is just loss after loss after loss. Sure someone made a bunch of money but the competition has gone through the roof, cost of living has gone up, jobs are being removed, people are replacing their dependence on God for a flawed Robot based on accumulated human knowledge which is also flawed. Global Greed. Notice how everyone started racing at the same time. How is that? Orchestrated perhaps? FOMO of losing power perhaps? So Corruption and can be multiplied to levels we have never experienced. Yet God wins Yeshua Lives and my need for Him is highlighted by the vast emptiness of having access to speed never before seen, knowledge never before attained. This too is vanity. Vanity of vanities.

API is much more economic for ai companies. I would point out that just because they run a loss it does not mean they are not adding value. Amazon ran at a loss for decades. Prime had horrible economics for much of

Interesting - but how are you getting the price per token? Only accurate way would be cost of hardware + overhead to run the model divided by token cost at 100 percent utilization. Basing your estimate off of the token cost the providers charge would amount to a loss because it’s not true cost per token

Feels like Uber all over again. Rides used to be dirt cheap. Run the cab companies out of business. Now rides cost an arm and a leg. They have the market they can do what they want

Tokens have 0 value. A token isn't a currency, and each model values tokens difference. They set the price of a "token" its all arbitrary. What they are using of value is called electricity, and that's the problem. They are getting subsidize prices for their data centers, and so the people around them are paying the cost. Not the AI companies.

All the “AI bubble” talk is wishful thinking by anti-AI talking heads. Google cloud didn’t make any money for several years, now it’s a cash cow. They aren’t “losing” money, they are spending it on the necessary infrastructure to turn a profit.
