Those of us at the district levels who do not have theaters at the maternity block,have to push cases for CS at the general theaters in haste.Sometimes you call the theatre staffs and there is an ongoing case there. The emotional stress from that one too is a topic for another day.

.I work in the maternity ward in a municipal hospital and the least of patients we have on admission is 28 maximum of about 40 and some are even on the floor and you have to monitor all vitals including FHR. You close from work and your feets are hurting as if you run a marathon. The worse is even the leadership in this profession. It hurts honestly.I’m currently on leave and I’m here contemplating whether to quit the job or not.

Even study leave koraa is problem, advanced midwifery and other specialized courses at GCNM, ghs have removed all leaving only well woman, no future fir we the midwives, they don’t want us to advance our knowledge on the field of work. It’s pathetic oo DR

How can one midwife be put in a health center during a shift to cater for a woman in labour? Meanwhile,there are two people's lives involved immediately the baby comes out.I use to ask myself this question every day! Doc ,God bless you very much!
