OFA was the counterpart to AFO they exist only to counter one another. One cannot exist without the other. When AFO died OFA needed to as well. OFAs sole goal was to defeat AFO and when it did it no longer had a purpose, it wasnt needed anymore, it made sense for Izuku to not keep it because he was already the greatest hero with and without it. OFA didn't make him a hero, he always was one.

I miss Izuku having a quirk, but I believe that him losing his quirk was the right ending. We as an audience love Izuku not for his quirk, but for him. His ideals, his actions, him. Him being quirkless is at the core of his character, and what he had to face being quirkless drove him to use his quirk for good. It also brings us back to the question "Can I still become a hero even without a quirk?" The answer is yes. Izuku knows this now. The heroes know this, and the citizens know this. One For All didn't define Izuku, Izuku defined One For All.
