if customers are waiting forever they probably wont come back. oil changes get them in the door and you can sell more services. If a vehicle is just in for a repair they expect it to take a while.

Dude it’s simple, repairs take hours. It’s expected. Oil change is a chance to get a repeat. Get more work down the road. The person that got problems are more likely to bring it to repair shop that just did their oil change then somewhere else. Don’t need a business degree to understand this
