I used to be so obsessed with getting my girl to walk “nicely”, and this perspective clicked for me when I finally asked myself “who is this walk really for? It’s for her!” Thank you for validating the freedom/sniffing philosophy for walks bc after switching to a harness, a longer line, and walks with more open spaces for sniffing, our walks have gotten 1000x more pleasant for the both of us 😁

We have a 25ft lead and it’s retractable. It comes in handy so you don’t have to reel em in every time. It’s strong enough for my pit he’s 115lbs. Might be handy for y’all like it is for us.

They should look like both!! Heel focused walks are great and also have there place in training!! But it’s exactly that, a training exercise in the form of a walk! A sniff walk should be everyday!!

yes!! I love the phrase "let dogs be dogs" 🩷 I want a goofy dog who loves being a dog, not a robot who is shut down and walking my my hips the entire walk. There's a time and place for "heel", but definitely not all the time

A 30 minute sniff walk will wear out a dog as much as an hour long walk in heel.

I have a 3 month of Miniature Poodle. I want to train him to be the best. I thought walking close by nicely and neat would be great. But tbh if they have a long enough lead with proper training, they’ll still walk nicely and freely.

Ur video just popped up on my FYP and I’ve seen some of your videos abt your dogs being reactive! Your brindle baby looks almost identical to my sweet girl luna who got put down due to being reactive and aggressive. Brought tears to my eyes i miss her so much. It’s nice to see you’re not giving up on them💕
