Most people don’t have good dimorphism anyways, that’s why they get perceived as androgynous without makeup. Women and men aren’t that different from each other. But makeup made people think natural mascara and lipstick and cheek colored blush was natural on a woman so that’s perceived as femininity. Yassification of women’s faces is unnatural for the most part. It’s not supposed to be exaggerated hyper feminine features that people use makeup and surgeries to alter. Most regular humans just look like humans. That’s why iPhone face is not ideal for period dramas. Because those are real women’s faces. Still pretty but not unrealistically altered

Also men tend to have sharper/more prominent features, meaning more shadows and woman softer features. The shadows and contrast is what products like contour and eye shadow are meant for.
