🔥🍎 It’s time to start the Fire Cider! 🌿 Autumn is creeping closer, which means my kitchen is officially entering jars-on-the-counter season. Fire cider is one of my favorite spicy herbal preparations to make now and let steep while the season changes. 🌙🌿 🔥 Homemade Fire Cider Ingredients: • 1 medium onion, roughly chopped • 8–10 cloves garlic, smashed • 1 fresh jalapeño, sliced • 2–3 inches fresh ginger, sliced • 2 inches fresh turmeric, sliced, or 1 tsp ground turmeric • 1 lemon, sliced • 1 orange, sliced • 2 cinnamon sticks • 1 tsp whole black peppercorns • 2–3 sprigs fresh rosemary • 2–3 sprigs fresh thyme • Raw apple cider vinegar, enough to completely cover everything • Honey, added after straining, to taste 🍯 How to make it: Add the onion, garlic, jalapeño, ginger, turmeric, citrus, cinnamon, peppercorns, rosemary, and thyme to a clean glass jar. Pour apple cider vinegar over everything until the ingredients are completely submerged. Leave a little room at the top. If you’re using a metal lid, place parchment or wax paper between the jar and lid so the vinegar doesn’t touch the metal. Give the jar a little shake and tuck it away in a cool, dark place for about 3–4 weeks. Give it a gentle shake every day or two. 🫙✨ When it’s ready, strain out the solids and stir honey into the liquid until it tastes just right to you. 🔥 Ways I like to use it: Take a small spoonful or diluted splash, mix it into warm water, add it to salad dressings or marinades, or drizzle a little into soups and savory dishes. 🌿 Kitchen Witch Touch: As you fill the jar, set an intention for warmth, protection, strength, and nourishment through the colder months. Every shake becomes a tiny reminder of that intention. Label your jar with “Fire Cider” + the date you started it so you’ll know when it’s ready. Fire cider is a traditional food preparation, not a substitute for medical care. Vinegar and spicy ingredients can irritate the stomach or throat for some people, so dilute it or skip it if it doesn’t agree with you. #FireCider #KitchenWitch #HerbalMagic #AutumnWitch #WitchTok
