Look at Kendall Jenner: when she was a teen she seemed to want an identity beyond being a basic beauty icon like her sisters, but never found that defining project or breakthrough. Now, compared to them, she seems ordinary. I’ve noticed this pattern with a lot of ’95 babies. The ones who truly broke through, like Timothée Chalamet and Dua Lipa, are exceptions. It reminds me of Sylvia Plath’s fig tree theory: wanting everything so badly that you end up choosing nothing.

I think also because of the world we live in and how fast everything is. Everything is on social media and they make you feel like you need to constantly be doing something, achieving something, or keeping up with everyone else. For me, the part that matters the most is how much we actually get to enjoy and appreciate what we’re doing instead of always thinking about what’s next.
