My theory is that Manang and Lola met in Nakali. Manang was currently pregnant with Jo. In order for them to get home, Manang sacrificed herself to stay for her baby to be brought by Lola while Lola gave up her Memory with the human Manang for her to get to home also. Lola and Jo got home human world. that's why Lola never mentioned Manang bc Lola lost her memory with Manang where she only knew her as a manananggal. Jo is an adopted daughter. See the hint where Raissa saw a crown (tikbalang nipple ring) to Jo where she said "I may be a Nakali Royalty" bc she is. and at the beginning shes fond of manang and presented her to the family tree presentation on her class.
