Genuinely a crazy take, not to mention he’s likely not even going to be 2nd lol. But the inning gap is mostly because he’s started 3 more games, so you are basically punishing Miz for the Brewers having a 6 man rotation for portions of the year which he can’t control lol. They are close in average innings pitched and basically the same in quality starts percentage, yet Miz is still pretty much crushing him in every rate and counting performance stat

Jacob Misiorowski is doing something we've literally never seen before in the history of the game. that alone has to be worth something and, imo, it's enough to close the slight inning gap. that aside, statistically speaking, Miz has been better in nearly all measurable ways with the exception of walk rate.

This is way more complicated than it needs to be. Miz is leading the league in: ERA, strikeouts, ERA+, FIP, WHIP, and K/9 Sanchez is leading the league in: WAR, and wins Case closed. He is second best

The only reason Miz doesn’t have longer outings is because he doesn’t need to. The Brewers also sport a deep, dominant bullpen that they can trust to keep their starters fresh. Your suggestion is that the Brewers are deprived of those 27 quality innings but it is only because they don’t need them. Look at Miz’s early-year starts. He can go 8-9 if needed but it just isn’t necessary with his support staff. Sanchez is more important to PHI because the team is less good overall. That doesn’t mean he is better.
