Fence sections may be trimmed, curved, repositioned, or designed with openings large enough to accommodate the growing trunk. What would normally be a simple, straight boundary becomes a one-of-a-kind structure shaped by the tree itself. There is something deeply human about these adaptations. They demand extra time and effort compared with simply constructing a fence in a straight line. Each modification reflects a decision to preserve something that was already there, treating the tree as part of the environment rather than an obstacle to be eliminated. And the story may not end there. As the tree continues to grow, the fence might eventually need to be altered once again.
