I need parents to understand that there are classroom rules and there are home rules and they are different. Similarly, home rules and work rules are different. That’s a normal part of life.

We can tell the kids who have a snack and walk around at home. I remember this one boy gave me hard time. I told him to go back and sit down while eating. He told me no, I gave him two warnings. He kept getting up with the food. I threw it away, it’s not safe. Warning after warning, he thought it was a game.. I tried to give him some flexibility he always been home with mom. It aggravates me as well food all over the toys and everything. Just kept saying no 🙃

As an adult, I can’t eat whenever I feel hungry. Sometimes I have to wait for my lunch break. Or, if I’m not hungry at lunchtime, then I wait until after work

I just answer due to routine and regulations, plus helps them adjust to prep as you can’t eat whenever you want in school and I’m not cleaning food off my floor my own kids sit to eat so will the daycare kids

Your rules at home do not apply to group childcare. If you want to set your own rules, pay for a nanny.

At home, I was allowed to rollerblade around my house while eating a bag of chips and a popsicle- but my mother also taught me that when I was in other environments, I had to respect the expectations of that environment 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

Structure is good for kids. My toddler eats snacks when he is hungry but mealtimes are scheduled.

Set mealtime also help because after a while you do get hungry around the same time because that’s what your body is used to
