He looks at a person’s heart. Third, what is truly biblical giving? 2 Corinthians 9:7 says: “Every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver.” Pay attention, it is not because of threats, not to exchange for blessings, and not because you are afraid that “if you do not give, disaster will come.” Christians can give generously to help the church and those in need, but do not turn giving into a price for buying grace. You can give a lot, or you may have limited ability for a while. What you really need to ask yourself is: Is your heart willing and honest?
