Our house we bought 10 years ago. It has an asphalt driveway that’s about 15 yrs old. It’s going to need to be redone soon. Wondering if I should do asphalt again or have it done in concrete instead. I assume the asphalt would have to be broken up.

👏The rebar seems to be what holds the bulk section together down deep as in a whole piece or mass.....despite a crack. Is this a way to translate the use of rebar? What is a good way to word what rebar would do for this parking lot or similar....?

Two more tricks- 1- (2) diagonal #4 bar at re-entrant corners in top 1/3 of the slap per ACI 360. 1st bar should be within 1:2” of the form. 2nd bar 1-2” from the first. 2- once concrete is placed full against forms, take a #4 bar and rod between the concrete and the form for 2-3’ from the corner each way. Do this anywhere you think it might crack beyond just re-entrant corners. This pushes rocks away from the form and those rocks are often where the cracks start. I’ve done this for over 40 years and it works great. The ridding is the most important part

Cuts not deep enough and the squares should be 10 x 10 or smaller. But looks great over all and cracks will happen but off the curb that’s crazy.

I pour a lot of 20X30 pads in the work I do. We pour 8” thick 7 bag mix with fiber and we pour them at a 5” slump and we have great results. With a lot of heavy equipment running over it.
