Not even just rock, music is dying. There’s a lack of individuality, new songs with new rhythms, unique artists. I mean think about it, everyday decade of “modern music” we have had something that innovated that defined it. The 2010’s were edm, when I think of the 2000’s I think of the birth of modern pop styles, ofc the 90’s I think of rap, and the 80’s obviously rock, 70’s disco etc etc. Since 2020 there have been some good artists and songs for sure, but I honestly can’t say there’s a love on another level like every other decade. I know there’s only so many songs you can make with 7 notes, but there’s so many ways to go about it. I miss big pop stars/rockstars that everyone talks about. That drop songs that people die for. People don’t even go to concerts for the experience, it’s always to say “I went there”. Again I don’t mean EVEYBODY but if you went back to the eras where rockstars were popular it was all FEELING. I’m waiting for someone huge to breakthrough like a beyonce, mj, Brittany spears and redefine the music scene once again, bring back what it means to be a star.
