Despina and kore are Persephone… just different names. Despina means “the mistress” and Kore “the girl”. Different names, same goddess

I’m sorry but as far as I’m concerned, Despoina was never described as a winter goddess at all

Maracuya :
THE GODESS OF WINTER IS KHIONE DAUGHTER OF BOREAS, NOT DEMETER. DESPOINA WAS WORSHIPPED ALONGSIDE DEMETER AND PERSEPHONE- and artemis at the cult in Arcadia. Her named was not to be ushered so only the initiates knew of her. We have no evidence of who the Despoina was because she is literally MEANT to be kept a secret. thank you for coming to my "lets stop painting the only mother, and dare i say parent, who cared about her daughters as bad" Ted Talk.

there isn't a ton about despina because of the cult of despina keeping a lot of things close to the vest. we find out things little by little alot. whether Despoina is another name for persephone or not we aren't entirely sure due to that

If I remember correctly both daughters are from r8pe. Persephone from when zues did it to Demeter and despina from when Poseidon did it to Demeter

TheOldWoodsWanderer :
This is actually a misconception. Despoina is another, likely older title for the Queen of the underworld, linked to the mystery cults of Demeter. It’s much more likely that Despoina and Persephone are the same goddess given different titles for their separate roles
