@tiparenting_: Call your child or teenager to watch this with you. Not every form of bullying starts with the person who recorded the video. Sometimes it starts with the people who keep forwarding it. A child trips. Someone cries. Someone has a difficult moment at school. Someone is embarrassed, upset, angry or vulnerable, and suddenly that moment is being passed from one group chat to another as “banter.” Teach your child this: if someone is being humiliated, do not help spread it. Do not forward it. Do not repost it. Do not laugh and send it to another group. Do not become part of somebody else’s worst moment. What feels like a joke to one child can become deeply distressing for the person being shared around. It can affect confidence, school life, friendships and mental wellbeing. And once your child forwards it, they are no longer just watching. They are participating. Teach them to delete it, leave the chat if necessary, refuse to send it on, and tell a trusted adult when something has gone too far. Forwarding is participating.
