They evolved in nutrient poor environments, so their roots need maximum air flow and zero minerals. Plant them in an airy, fluffy substrate of equal parts long-fiber sphagnum moss and coarse perlite. Always use plastic or glazed ceramic pots with large drainage holes so minerals never leach into the roots. 🌡️ HUMIDITY AND TEMPERATURE Keep temperatures between 70°F and 85°F during the day. Consistent air humidity above 60% is critical. When humidity drops too low, the leaf tendrils dry up and stop inflating into full pitchers, even if the main plant stays green. Keep them away from cold winter drafts and dry air blowing from indoor heating vents. 🧪 FEEDING In typical home environments with few stray bugs, pitchers will catch insects naturally over time. If kept in a bug-free space, dropping a single dried bloodworm, freeze-dried mealworm, or tiny insect directly into a mature pitcher every few weeks provides a boost.
