Back in the 30's there were small zoo's everywhere. University of Michigan had one right on Central Campus across the road from where the children's hospital was located at the time.

My Daddy moved from Tenn to Jackson as a kid. My very southern family came North for work. He said Jackson was great place to live but moved to Adrian area when automotive production factory & parts companies started moving. plus my Grandpa wanted to get bk into Farming so they did. I worked in jackson all thru early 2000's and it was sad to watch it decline even more but i still visit, love it, pray for it, and have faith in it xoxo. All of our towns are suffering. So hard these days!!

my grandpa used to take me sledding at the rotunda and now I take both my kids sledding there every year, it's incredible to see how many years/generations it's been around
