@rtbrainsandbeauty: This is why we TREND our ventilator numbers. 🫁📈 Your patient’s Peak Inspiratory Pressure (PIP) was 27 cmH₂O on your first ventilator check. Now it’s 32 cmH₂O. Don’t just document 32 and move on. Ask yourself: what changed? PIP represents the pressure required during inspiration and is influenced by both airway resistance AND respiratory-system compliance. So when PIP starts rising from your patient’s previous values, that change deserves your attention. Maybe something changed with the airway. Maybe resistance increased. Maybe compliance changed. Maybe something changed with the patient or circuit. That’s where your assessment and troubleshooting come next. #respiratorytherapy #respiratorytherapist #studentrt #rtschool #mechanicalventilation
