@drsermedmezher: Suspicious or Not Suspicious? #test. Source- Personal clinical experience & training in safeguarding children Recognizing subtle shifts in a child's behavior, emotional state, or appearance is often the turning point in preventing harm. Children rarely have the language to articulate abuse or distress, relying instead on non-verbal cues and altered routines to signal trouble. When adults notice early indicators like sudden withdrawal, unexplained fearfulness, or uncharacteristic aggression, they create a crucial protective barrier before situations escalate. Protecting young people relies on vigilance and early intervention to transform silent distress into safety. Knowing what to look for allows caregivers, educators, and community members to act as a vital safety net, preventing small red flags from being dismissed as mere phases. Fostering constant adult awareness ensures that vulnerable children are seen, heard, and sheltered from harm. #parents #women #doctors

As a teacher who works in EYFS (age 3-5) I ask the kid how they got every single injury. Most of the time kids aren't sure how they hurt themselves, which is the least suspicious response. Anything more then a sentence I treat as suspicious.

Well I thought number one was suspicious because a femur fracture from falling a bit seemed unlikely

4/5 I forgot about the fact that babies can’t roll that young. Currently studying childcare to work in a nursery so maybe I need to brush up on my notes 😬😬

I got 4/5, I did not know that babies couldn't roll befor a certain age. And the last question I got right but through different reasoning, I just couldn't figure out the mechanics of how a baby could bang their thigh hard enough to bruise against anything in a cot

5/5 I forgot babies can’t roll over that young, but it’s suspicious even if you don’t know that because baby’s bones are soft and harder to break

I got 5/5, but for all the wrong reasons. 1. Babies that young are pretty slow, so them falling off is unlikely, and my first question without knowing that they can't roll would've been "why were they not being watched for long enough to be able do that?" 2. 3-year olds move around a lot, and crawl. Bruises on knees and elbows are not suprising. 3. the first one where I had to look at the picture, but those are clearly burn marks. 4. Wrist being injured while playing football is not surprising, considering how often kids fall, and the the reflex to catch yourself on your hands. 5. This is where I would consider the picture, but also the childs age. If it's a very young child, we go back to point one(babies being slow) and not having enough power to get that bad of a bruise on their thigh. But also, that is not a bruise from a cot.

5/5. But the first one I got right for the wrong reason. I thought femurs were hard to break and breaking one like that is very odd

5/5, some of my injuries as a kid were definitely suspicious, but were accidental, strangulation marks (hung myself accidentally 7/8yrs), dislocated arm told the doctor "mummy did it" (she rolled up my sleeve)

I only got 3. I didn't know when babies started rolling and I was over cautious with the wrist injury.
