its also explicitly stated in the finale that madoka chose not to save Sayaka. She would have had to undo Sayaka making a wish in the first place so she never would have turned into a witch, but doing so would mean Kyosuke would never have gotten healed by Sayaka's magic. Madoka chose to honor Sayaka's wish, which meant Sayaka's transformation into a witch would not be prevented, causing her to die to the law of cycles in the final timeline.

I thought madoka and sayaka only spirited because sayaka acepted the opprutounity to work in the laws of cycle while madoka only left kyoko and mami because they deserved a happier and better life and acepted the fate of witches after she erases rhe witches?💔

i might be wrong but i’m pretty sure sayaka dies in every timeline. because nobody could prevent her despair. and sayaka made the choice to work for the law of cycles at the end supa cool

I don’t think it’s in any correlation, but the reason why Sayaka was in rebellion was because Sayaka was sent into the labyrinth by Madoka to act as her assistant and guardian, memories, and role as the Law of Cycles for safekeeping while Madoka assumed the role of a normal human girl to trick Kyubey.

don’t they literally say this in the show? the grief seed system to purify gems basically still works the same way, the only difference is once you start becoming a witch madoka takes you away before you can turn. so sayaka would’ve still neglected purifying her gem, it’s just that this time instead of turning into a witch once her gem became corrupted she got taken away by madoka
