Temneses are the original owners of Freetown, there were kingdoms created by the Temne people. Kingdoms like koya kingdom which Freetown. Temne would have been the language spoken in Freetown instead of Krio, but the British wanted to control Sierra Leone so they destroyed the Temne kingdoms.
