@allijaeger: Baby Jingle update— This little guy was placed in a carrier along with his mom and siblings and then they were forgotten about. Out of sight, out of mind. One by one, each puppy passed away. Jingle was the only survivor of the litter, but he was critical. At just 10-14 days old, he sustained urine burns from sitting in the urine-filled carrier for so long, and he had symptoms of low blood sugar with seizure activity. beaumont_animal_care has been handling his case & care and they had a foster home for him. While in the fosters care, she was giving him sugar water every 2 hours. So when we became involved and had him admitted to @vergi247er, his blood sugar levels were normal (actually high), but she likely saved his life. While at the ER, he’s been “flailing around like a fish” and just not acting normal. Our best guess is that all the seizures he’s had caused swelling in his brain, so the focus is on decreasing the swelling. He’s on appropriate medications and only had one seizure so far while at the ER. While he’s made some progress, we still cannot rule out a visit to a neurologist. But for now, he’ll remain hospitalized getting quality care. He’s a tough little guy and we remain hopeful for him.
