Hi Adrian, what a blessing for you to have your parents and still together to show you a great example of what a marriage should look like. It gives you something to strive because unfortunately it's very rare. I also have a wonderful example from my parents who have been together for more than 50 years. I hope to have such a strong relationship/marriage someday.

i think this is so true. my dad did not treat my mom well, and when i got older and started dating i quickly realized i did not understand what a healthy relationship dynamic looked like. i would actually feel anxiety and discomfort if a man was nice to me because it didn’t model what i saw at home. i think a lot of people have this issue unfortunately.

Agree. This also applied to girl dads, no matter how much of a princess treatment they give to their daughters, it will certainly not be the standard of a man the daughters fall into.. even when the dad is an amazing dad, the way they treated their wife will impact much more to how their daughter "pick" their man.

My husband is 27 years was not that kind of a man. But my two sons learned exactly how not to be and they are phenomenal husbands, and fathers.

It’s beautiful to see a family like yours. 🤍 My parents also came from families that weren’t perfect, but I was fortunate to receive the kind of love from my mother that shaped who I am today. While I didn’t receive the same from my father, it made me more aware of the kind of love and home I want to create someday. Some things may have shaped us, but they don’t have to define what we give to the world.
