Hi, travel nurse here 🙋♀️Best of luck in this wild challenge! I'm sure you've already planned for this since there's entry vaccine requirements in Congo, but just in case: Yellow fever + polio (mandatory YF, polio too if >4 weeks) + i'd also recommend Hep A, rabies and dukoral for your type of trip specifically. I've heard Europe has a dengue vaccine, might be worth checking out. Get malaria pills and bring some antibiotics! All the best, stay safe ✨✅

My sister went to Congo for 2 summers to help in their hospitals/clinics. In the early 2000’s. She was in med school & this kind of work was her dream. One of the years we got an email from her saying they all had to go into hiding because a war was breaking out. My mom, the most calm, level headed person I know…was a nervous wreck until we finally heard from her again. I think it was 1-2 weeks. She ended up discovering monkey pox in one of the villages & literally carried it back on the plane with her to give to the CDC. Point is…I still don’t know a whole lot about Congo…but I do know it can be very dangerous. I applaud you for doing this & have the mentally capacity & strength. I think this is amazing! And I will be rooting for you & praying for you the whole time. ❤️

I have agoraphobia and haven’t left my home in 63 days. Other then that just once a month for the doctors. Not even stepped outside. This is making me have a heart attack with his count down. On the other hand, I’m so so envious and live vicariously through others and their adventures and everyday life outside.
