an older gay couple moved into the house next to me in 2021 and they came over asking if they can use our driveway to park cars because they were having their wedding in the backyard. my mum asked “why are you getting married now? starting fresh in a new house?” (it something like that can’t rlly remember) and they go “no because we’re allowed now.” and it just really put things into perspective because they’ve been together for like 50+ years and what do you mean it was illegal for them to get married?
