@mattkelderman: Everybody keeps telling me they’re broke. They’ve stopped eating out. They’re cutting groceries. Canceling vacations. Working second jobs. Putting emergencies on credit cards. But then I leave my house and everything is PACKED. Restaurants. Costco. Events. Stores. So what the hell is going on? Are more people doing fine than it seems? Are we spending but not saving? Is it going on credit cards? Or are we cutting other things so we can still enjoy our lives? Because both of these things seem to be true at the same time. #CostOfLiving #MiddleClass #MoneyTalk #ConsumerSpending #DFW
This generation has been taught to live on credit. All they care about is a credit score. We were the opposite

Delivery driver here. People have money. I see their monster houses, cars, and what they buy. They are have branded vehicles in their driveways which tells me they own their own business. That’s my guess,

In F’ it mode . We go out to dinner or at least apps and drinks once a week which definitely isn’t cheap usually spend 75-130 and have take out around two times a week but we do that because we don’t have a mortgage . I have 8 credit cards which I use all of them but pay off each monthly . Just come to realize at 58 life and being able to enjoy it outways the expenses now

People like my parents who bought their house at a 2% interest rate and bring in 500k a year are totally fine but people like me who make 70K a year and have rent at $2300 a month are struggling. And there doesn’t seem to be an in between.

It’s the K economy. You either have money and can do these things or you don’t. There is no middle ground anymore

People aren’t broke. I think it’s just the side of TikTok everyone is on. There’s millions and millions of well off people in the world. Social media is like a small pool of half the world.

People are NOT fine!! People are trying to survive mentally. Unfortunately, that means a lot of credit card debt. Like a comment below said, people are in a “f*** it “ mode!! The government is stealing us blind so we have to have SOMETHING!!
