They’re called kissing tonsils. Caleb, get prepared. It was the worst when I was 32 and i woke up in recovery with 8 year olds mowing down popsicles and I wanted to be put down. It is a rough recovery for an adult

Caleb adult recovery of this surgery is so awful! Popsicles, Italian ice, Slurpees, jello (no red flavors!) Cool broth or smooth soup, juice, oatmeal, applesauce and instant mashed potatoes. Wishing a speedy recovery!

get prepared to go through the most horrific thing you've ever gone thru. also mashed potato stick, you can't eat mashed potatoes. You really can't eat anything. So broth.... maybe 😬 during the middle of my recovery, I'm pretty sure I would have traded strep everyday for the rest of my life than what I felt in those moments. It truly was the worst two weeks of my life! anyway good luck LOL

😭 Spoiler alert: after an adult tonsillectomy you’re not gonna even be able to eat mashed potatoes without EXTREME pain. (I gave birth without an epidural and I’d rather do that again than have a tonsillectomy) I wish I could go back and not have it done. I still can’t swallow quite right.

I got mine out at 31, it was the worst recovery - bone broth and protein shakes. Stay on top of the swelling. Sleep sitting up. I legit got myself a sitting chaise lounger chair to sleep in. [Tears of joy]

Don’t let anyone lie to you. It doesn’t matter what you eat, everything will hurt it. Water will hurt it. But also, not drinking water will hurt it even worse 🤷🏻♀️

I got mine out a few years ago (tonsil stones, not strep throat) and like not even mashed potatoes. Cold water is the only thing that helped. And ice packs constantly. I only ate like right after taking the opiates, and even then it was like apple sauce and half a protein drink. I lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks 🙃

You're right that its the dairy to avoid. Which means you can still eat cold things like sherbert and popsicles.
