All the Details ⬇️ 📍Glacier National Park, Montana Before I dive in, don’t forget to save this and follow @movingtoadventure for more experienced Glacier NP hiking guides 🏔️ 🥾NEW to 2026 - there are no longer vehicle reservations at the west entrance and Logan Pass now is restricted to only 3 hours of parking ‣ 3 hours at Logan Pass is enough time to watch a sunrise, Hike to the Hidden Lake Overlook, and hike the 1/4 miles of the Highline Trail until you reach the drop off section! 🥾Want to hike the Highline Trail in 2026? You will need to make a reservation to take the Logan Pass shuttle ‣ These are available 60 days in advance and also the night before ‣ I have a recent post detailing everything you need to know about hiking the Highline Trail - leave a comment and I can also send it to you! 🥾Going-to-the-Sun Road typically opens in late June to early July ‣ Text GNPROADS to 333111 for road closure/opening alerts 🥾GTTSR may only be 50 miles long, but it can take ~2 hours to complete (one way) ‣ Make sure you allow for enough time when getting from place to place ‣ Plan for extra time driving due to scenic stops, wildlife, traffic, and slow speed limits 🥾GTTSR has vehicle size restrictions due to some sharp turns and narrow sections ‣ Vehicles are restricted to less than 21 ft long, 8 ft wide, and 10 ft high 🥾Consider a Red Bus Tour ‣ These open air vintage buses drive on GTTSR so you can enjoy the scenery without the stress of driving 🥾Keep a lookout for wildlife ‣ Mountain goats and bighorn sheep are commonly found at Logan Pass on rocky ledges ‣ Bears are commonly found along the roadway, by rivers, or in valleys 🥾The best time to visit is late July to early September ‣ This ensures the road will be completely open! 📌Add the epic Going to the Sun Road to your bucket list for 2026! ❓Are you planning a trip to Glacier this year?
