I have been doing Spark for about a month now. They are pairing your order with non-tipping orders that are going 15-20 miles away, possibly with very heavy or very bulky items. Walmart thinks that pairing a bad order with a good one will force drivers to accept them and unfortunately for those people who tip well, that’s not always the case and good orders sit or get declined over and over again.

I'm a spark driver for Walmart part time and Walmart has dropped the base pay on orders so much no one takes them. ESP if there's no tip. With gas as much as it is now drivers are being very selective. Not uncommon to see orders going 20 miles for $12, no one is taking that!

Tell them to pay their delivery drivers more than 35 cents a mile and maybe customers will get their groceries 🤷♀️I use them for delivery and I also occasionally deliver for them. The man that ran instacart is now running the Walmart delivery and he likes to pay pennies. Literally pennies. No way will people drive 30+ miles for a base pay of $11 when gas ia $5/gal

it looks like since most of these Spark Drivers are starting to not take orders depending on their size and tip amount, that Walmart needs to hire their own delivery drivers this is getting ridiculous

If they mix your order with other people it may look that order like shut and driver aren’t pick that up. I’m a driver and I’m very selective with my orders. Tips is what paid us…no good tips no orders love…sorry it happen…those tomatoes look good

Let me sum this up for you in case the 350+ comments havent; you clearly are cheap and didnt tip even though you told people 100 times you did, you are lazy and should just go shopping yourself even though the service is offered and used by lots of people and oh some nice lady informed you are not southern (not sure if you knew that). Did I miss anything???

I’m a spark driver and it’s not just because of a tip amount. She probably tipped well and her order was grouped with 1 or 2 other orders and those other orders might not have tipped or they were .com orders being grouped with her order so more work less pay. And they have cut the amount they pay spark drivers, we pay for our own gas and wear and tear on vehicles, and no insurance. So many other factors are involved I think.

sometimes this is due to walmart, i drive spark and get my own deliveries and mine was delayed. walmart told me due to them being shortstaffed and behind by 2 hours on their shopping orders. if u place it enough ahead of time walmart shops it not the spark ppl and its a pickup for spark ppl and if walmart doesnt have it shopped and done they cancel them and reschedule them

Please complain to them! As a driver, they’ve screwed us over . Giving us literally pennies to shop for 3 people - big shops too. I’m watching orders sit ALLLLL day. It didn’t used to be like this. Even this time last year.

I am a Spark driver as well. Exactly what all others are saying with dot.com and deliveries being bathed with little pay, no to little tips but from Spark little pay to cover gas and maintanence for such high mileage...and now tier programs fully rolled out that for PT will not allow us to get many orders (supposedly) if not hitting benchmarks. New CEO for Spark is from Instacart.

Okay so, I can give you tips to actually get them delivered. Base pay on express orders (in my area) is usually $10. That’s $10 to shop and deliver for the driver since they have to deliver now. For 6 miles + shopping for more than 20 items, most won’t take it for less than $24 because of the 12 mile round trip. Your tip should be at least $14 to have a high chance of getting delivered. I’m not saying this is how it should be, they shouldn’t have reduced the base pay to the point where drivers are paying to deliver, but this is the way you’re most likely to receive your order under the current system.
