Rex said if he’s gonna be sitting around the shelter any longer, he might as well start picking up volunteer shifts! 🤭 He took me for a walk, helped me get my steps in, posed for his adoption photos and made sure we both got a healthy dose of endorphins with his favorite tennis ball. I’d say he absolutely earned Volunteer of the Month!! 🙂 Rex is only about a year old and somehow found himself here as a stray. He’s young, silly, sweet and clearly very ready to trade shelter life for a family of his own. He also already knows sit and paw! Rex did get the zoomies here and there and started to play a little rough once he got excited. Because of that, for now I’d recommend a home with older children if there are kids in the home. He’s not trying to hurt anyone, but he’s a young, excited dog who could easily plow over a toddler while playing. Daily walks, enrichment and a little training could help him get some of that energy out. Rex is currently not in danger of euthanasia but that could change any day. He came into the shelter on August 26, which means he’s now been there for 25 days and is considered a length of stay dog. The longer he waits, the more urgent finding him a home becomes. • Questions?
