Bro just go with the Johnson’s why would you spend 10k on a motor and cheap out on a couple 100 dollars that could cause catastrophic failure

Running ls7 Currently make 800whp and shift at 78-900. Spring pressures 150 closed and 420 open with no problems

I’ve got the caddy lifters I don’t run past 6800 lol they are noisy though

rj king :
okay so theoretically if a man wanted to be able to reliably hit 6800rpm, what would he need to do, on a 6.0 ls

Are you familiar with the Cadillac Racing lifters?

Everyone commenting insane numbers and then I had one turn sideways at 2500 rpm and a btr stage 3 truck cam. Ruined the cam and killed the lifter 😩

How do you determine the spring pressure on a cam?

I used delpi LS7 lifters in my last cam swap and they took forever to break in the motor sounded like it was going to come apart for over 1000 miles. Never again.

Kade Mackinnon :
The ls7 lifters are far more capable than the majority will ever need, 8000rpm in many engines I’ve put together for many seasons with over 450 open pressure, never had an issue

Nah, go Chevy performance over ls7 style lifters. The price difference is nothing in grand theme of things

1118 wheel GMP lifters and 8200rpm shift 8500 through the traps for 4 seasons with springs that are a smidge over 480# at 0.670” 🤷🏻♂️maybe I got unicorns or maybe there’s more to it than you’re glossing over. I do have big wheel Johnson’s in a few customer engines north of 1500 wheel hp one of which is spinning to 9200.

Sent a bad short block with ls7 and 550 lift cam. Blew up a piston but I set the limiter at 7k. Didn’t care for power or anything as it was just a junk engine lol so yes don’t go over 6500-7000

Ezra on Earth :
I got some manly .700 lift springs and Johnson lifters for my 6.0, it’s a little too much spring for my cam, but .675 springs are just barely too short…

Are Lts any different I went with ls7 lifters but I am putting a pretty big cam in it. Everything else is upgraded pushrods, rockers and the same valve springs you have.
