It was my first time spending a night at a ryokan in Japan and tbh when I entered this particular ryokan for the first time, I felt slightly spooked yet curious because I didn’t expect it to carry such a dark and ominous atmosphere. I thought, maybe this is how ryokans normally are like because you literally pay for the traditional vintage experiences. So I couldn’t complain. The host was super kind and accommodating too and spoke decent English. Everything was awesome. Until the night came and I quickly fell asleep. At exactly 3am, I was violently woken up to a noise that resembled drums and footsteps. I tried to brush it off but I couldn’t so I just plugged in my AirPods to cancel the noise out. I was too tired to care about ghosts anyway. When the morning came, I almost forgot about it until I bumped into the host and asked about the noise. She said, “ah it was raining yesterday. It’s super normal for traditional Japanese homes like this to make that kind of noise when the raindrops hit the rooftops.” Then how do you explain the footsteps I’ve heard outside my room and the man with some sort of musical instruments who appeared in my dream that night? EDIT: the footage in this video was BEFORE I fell asleep and it was the only video I had of this place. I didn’t record the actual incident because I was too busy being vigilant and kind of stunted by what happened. If you’ve experienced hauntings at some point of your life, you might be able to understand where I’m coming from 😉 #japan #ryokan #horrortok #horrorstory #japantravel
