I think it's less to do with vtube specific as it is you keeping secrets. You would've been better off just telling her up front. She clearly felt distanced or suspicious by your apprehension to tell her, and because she never confronted you about those feelings, she drew resentment toward you instead. So the day when she's had enough and snaps bc she's too weak to not break from it, she will already half way through the grieving process by the time you realized.
