Honestly, I don’t feel like I’m ready to be in a relationship with a woman I truly care about, and it hurts to admit that. I don’t have a car, I still live with my parents, and I don’t have the money to take her out to a nice restaurant or give her the kind of experiences I wish I could. Part of me is also afraid of finding out whether a woman wants a relationship built on wealth and material things or one built on genuine love, loyalty, and understanding. I’m almost 27, and it honestly hurts because I always imagined having a girlfriend in my early 20s and experiencing that kind of love while I was younger. Sometimes I feel like I’m falling behind in life, and I worry that by the time I’m finally ready, I’ll have missed out on the kind of love I’ve always wanted.
