So I’m biracial with a blk mom and yt dad. My mom dated predominantly yt men and sometimes blk. Myself however have never dated outside of blk. Could be bc I didn’t grow up around my father or his family. Their rejection was probably deeply embedded and ultimately lead me to not consider them to date.

I rlly agree with this. My mother’s family r a 1/4 white but a lot came out looking very biracial. My auntie is the most white passing and ppl just assume she’s Latina or darker Italian. Her husband is a wealthier white guy and he loves telling ppl about his ‘black wife’. Which was painfully rich cus he would make distasteful racial jokes like saying my grandma looked like Nelson Mandela. So my perception of it is that he likes having that proximity to blackness but he doesn’t fully see her as such. And from my aunties perspective I do think it’s also a desire for whiteness. They lived in a smaller village in Mozambique and being lighter resulted in a lot of bullying, they moved to Portugal and got the same but for being dark, I think it created a struggle for all of my aunties and their confusion. And I think the fact all my (6) aunties ended up marrying white men.
