I really hate when derms don't recommend something because x amount of people are allergic to it. They did this with Lanolin when my lips were bursting because of Accutane. They recommended petroleum jelly, but I was able to put two and two together, and Lanolin was the only thing that worked. Why did they not recommend it? because 2% of people are allergic to it 😏

“In the United States, skin and soft tissue infections (SSTIs) are one of the top four primary sites of infection leading to sepsis, accounting for 11% of all documented sepsis cases”. Meanwhile in my European country where EVERYONE puts topical antibiotics on wounds and iodine this is in fact not the case. Good luck America 👍
