bringing a coffee into an interview isn't the problem, it's being late because you went for a coffee that's the issue or maybe a cultural thing? In the UK it's standard to have a coffee or whatnot when going for an interview. They used to even suggest bringing a bottle of water in with you just in case you needed a moment to think or calm your nerves you can take a sip 🤷
