So to be honest. When I started wearing make up I never did the whole skincare thing and my makeup lasted HOURSSS!!! Now that I'm using primer and all these recommendations, 1 hour later I look like a cracked pumpkin and my skin is a mess. (mind you, I do wait to let my skincare "settle and soak in") also, why Is every foundation orange these days?

Mind was blown win a makeup artist used a mattifying primer in my T zone and grippy primer over my eyes and cheeks. It never would have occurred to me. I thought you just had to commit to one primer and smear it all over the face.

THIS! I’ve been saying this to my students (I teach a college makeup program) - you gotta know when to pivot to other things while letting the skin prep sit! You save on time and also see how your skin prep actually looks after some time!

I always do my eye makeup 1st after skincare that way it gives skin plenty of time to sink in

I feel this way when people say they can’t wear spf everyday because it doesn’t work under makeup. You’ve got to leave it alone to sink in and dry down for at least 15 minutes before putting makeup on top.
