My mom taught kindergarten for 15 yrs and then decided she wanted to give HS a chance. She was the High schoolers favorite teacher. She even said that the only difference between kindergarten boys and high school boys was that she didn’t have to stand outside the bathroom telling the high schoolers to aim. 😂😂😂

when i was in grade 12 we had a grade 4 teacher be our substitute, mam handled our class better than anyone ever had, most of the time she would do the eyes on me and then be like "good, ur almost getting as good as the 4th graders" or be like "do we need to go to the 4th grade class to see an example on how to behave?" appearently our class did better when we were competing against them for behaviour😂

As someone who subs for all grade levels I will say there is effort involved in remembering to change your approach depending on the age of the kids you’re working with that day 😅

pre-k and kindergarten teachers do NOT play. i taught an art class in 9th grade. i was so gentle with those kids… the teachers??? if they got too loud they would threaten them with silent lunchtime or no recess INSTANTLY. and then gave me a smile for helping with the kids. they can be INTIMIDATING.

I’ve been in 2nd for 2 years, they stuck me in 6th the first week of school and when I tell you “NO THANK YOU FRIEND” is even more effective with big kids I mean it.

As a teacher who moved from prek last year to middle school this year, the amount of times I still say “ope, prek pause” to my 8th graders is alarming. But they do respond to it soooo 🤷🏻♀️
