Churro Conchas 🇲🇽 Feliz 16 de Septiembre ✨🇲🇽 reposting my first ever concha video to celebrate 🥳 Dough: 1 cup water 1 packet of instant dry yeast (2 1/4teaspoons) 3 cups all purpose flour 1 cup granulated sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Topping part 1: 1 cup all purpose flour 1 cup powdered sugar 1 cup vegetable shortening (crisco) 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Cinnamon sugar topping part 2: 1 cup granulated sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 unsalted butter, melted (for dipping before cinnamon sugar) 1 Mix the all-purpose flour, yeast, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt in the bowl. 2 Then add the butter and mix well again. 3 Beat the dough with a mixer for 7-10 minutes. Dough should end up looking smooth and feel soft and elastic. 4 Place the dough on your floured work area and knead it just enough to shape it into a ball. 5 Place dough into a large greased bowl to rest. Cover it with plastic wrap and a kitchen towel. 6 Allow the dough rest in a warm place for about 2 hours until it doubles in size. 7 Make toppings during this time. Add flour, sugar, cinnamon and shortening into bowl and mix until it’s all incorporated 8 In a separate bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar in a bowl for the second topping. 9 Once the dough has risen, divide the dough (I divided into 16 pieces). 10 Add a little shortening to top of the balls, then add first topping. (I used a cookie cutter to help add those classic concha lines 11 Then allow the dough to rest for 1-2 hours so it can rise again. 12 Bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes 13 Once cooled completely, brush melted butter on top and then add cinnamon sugar. Serve with some cafecito ✨ #hispanicheritagemonth #16deseptiembre #conchas #Recipe #churro
