@youshouldlovesomeone: The first two parts of Resident Evil are SPECTACULAR. Zach Cregger is becoming one of the great horror directors of our current generation because he’s so good at mixing horror with comedy without making either one feel out of place. You can see that in Barbarian and Weapons, and that same style is all over this movie too. Austin Abrams absolutely shines as our main protagonist. He brings so much personality/comedy to the character, especially when the movie gets completely out of hand But I gotta say… the back half of this movie took it from “spectacular” to just “very solid… There are a LOT of stupid and infuriating decisions that genuinely had me sitting there like, “what are you doing homie?!😭” And the way this movie ends… I really felt like they should’ve pumped the brakes a little instead of just leaving us like THAT. It’s only a 95 min run time, and honestly, I think this movie could’ve benefited from another 20–25 minutes to let certain things in this final part to breathe and ACTUALLY get development. Still, I had a really fun time watching it. Cregger clearly understands how to make horror very entertaining, and this is definitely worth seeing in a theater if you enjoy the genre/video games :)))) 3.5/5 ⭐️ #review #horrortok #residentevil #film #letterboxd
